NRT Names Jennifer Jones R&D Engineer
Will research, test and design new optical technologies

Nashville, TN – April 9, 2015 – National Recovery Technologies (NRT) has named Jennifer Jones Research and Development (R&D) Engineer. In this role, Jennifer will be highly involved with developing new technologies to meet current and future needs in plastics recycling, materials recovery and electronic scrap recycling, among other industries.
Jennifer has a PhD in Interdisciplinary Materials Science from Vanderbilt University; her graduate research involved developing novel approaches for identifying polymer thin films confined within multilayer structures. She will work to design, test and bring to market new systems and algorithms for material identification in high-speed sorting environments. “Becoming a R&D Engineer at NRT allows me to combine my passion for science and research with the satisfaction that comes from advancing technology that has a real and immediate impact on our society,” Jones said.
“We’re excited to add someone of Jennifer’s caliber to our team at NRT,” said Thomas Brooks, Director of New Product Development for the BHS family of companies. “At NRT we take great pride in our in-house technology, history of innovation and reputation for performance. We consider ourselves thought-leaders in this field, and Jennifer’s addition certainly strengthens this commitment to progress,” Brooks went on.
Prior to obtaining her PhD from Vanderbilt University, Jennifer worked as the Program Coordinator for the Nonmaterial and Sensors Group in the Department of Life and Physical Sciences at Fisk University. She holds a Science Degree in Physics from Fisk, and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Physics from Austin Peay State University.
