Product Manager

BHS is looking for an onsite Product Manager to join the team in Eugene, OR.

The Product Manager works to improve the competitive and financial advantage for the BHS waste and recycling products assigned. In this role, you will focus on gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, supporting sales activities, defining the product vision and improvements, and working closely with all departments to deliver results.

If you have these qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities…

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, process, or manufacturing engineering or related field required
  • Understanding of the Industrial equipment marketplace
  • Technical training and/or experience in manufactured mechanical products
  • Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platforms
  • Experience using ERP software
  • Strong leadership mindset
  • Data analytics and metrics management skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication, presentation, and public speaking skills
  • Experience drafting Product and Market Requirements Documents
  • Familiarity with Agile work management and/or the ability to effectively communicate complex processes within and across teams

And are excited about these responsibilities…

  • Developing product strategy and redesigning from concept through development and manufacturing to market launch for products, including but limited to screens, conveyors, bag breakers, metering bins, structures and platforms, shredders, vibration tables/feeders, and digesters
  • Leading innovation processes by identifying potential products, conducting market research, generating product requirements, developing marketing strategies, and determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and plans for product introduction
  • Travelling up to 25% of the time to customer and vendor locations, both domestic and international 
  • Determining customers’ needs and desires through site visits and research into competitor offerings
  • Recommending the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising ideas for new products and/or product improvements
  • Providing source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives
  • Helping increase product market share by working with sales director to develop product sales strategies and establish early adapter programs
  • Assessing product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results
  • Coordinating with production and purchasing regarding inventory needs to align with product changes
  • Assisting in bringing new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs, preparing return-on-investment analyses, and establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing
  • Working with marketing and sales departments to ensure product success and market growth
