BHS is looking for a California based Service Technician to join the team.
In this role, you will deliver hands on post project system installation, and all follow on service support for domestic and international BHS customers. You will function as part of a team that has shared responsibility for service and warranty support, customer training, site inspections, customer expedited service and parts solutions for the customer base.

- Associate degree or Trade Certification in a mechanical field preferred
- 1-2 years’ combined preferred experience in any/all of the following disciplines:
- Working in a mechanical/manufacturing environment
- Welding and fabrications
- Problem solving/troubleshooting mechanical equipment, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems
- -OR- an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates comparable skill set
- Ability to read and interpret prints, schematics, and detailed repair drawings for construction equipment and machinery required
- Experience performing troubleshooting procedures required
- MS Office experience, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel required
- Comfortability working in an environment where development and training of new technology is always present required
- Prior experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or ERP software preferred, Syteline or Salesforce experience a plus
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing to various audiences required
- Prior welding experience preferred, welding certification a plus
- Prior experience working with/operate heavy lifting equipment preferred
- Basic understanding of multimeter functions preferred

- Traveling extensively (70-80% of time) to customer sites both domestic and international to meet service support program needs
- Providing mechanical/technical support in the field, including, but not limited to:
- Installing and repairing bearings, chains, sprockets
- Installing and removing electrical motors
- Troubleshooting mechanical and pneumatic faults
- Dismantling equipment for repair or maintenance
- Aligning and adjusting equipment for efficient and safe operation of the system
- Welding, grinding, and modifying equipment onsite for installation and repair
- Performing onsite fabrication as needed
- Operating heavy lifting equipment such forklifts, scissor lifts, boom trucks, etc.
- Documenting all customer contacts and write service and inspection reports, including follow on scope of work needed
- Utilizing software to manage service punch lists and any other service-related support programs
- Instructing customer end users on the safety, proper operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment to improve efficiency of system productivity
- Working with active/existing customers to identify any service support program opportunities:
- Participating in weekly customer facing activities both onsite and remotely
- Providing quotes for detailed scope of work and follow up
- Liaising with the Senior Service Technician and/or other Service department members for scope of work detail breakdown
- Recording and providing feedback to Research and Development, Engineering and Manufacturing groups to improve product performance and serviceability
