Fabricator - Level II

Location: Eugene, OR

BHS is looking for a Fabricator II to join the team at our Danebo location.

At BHS, this is not a job shop nor is it a production welding position. Unlike other companies or industries, BHS Fabricators are responsible for working within a team to fabricate whole components and machinery using blueprints and are tasked with problem solving the best approach with a great deal of variety in tasks. Additionally, BHS Fabricators engage in skill-based progression with growth opportunities from Level I through III.   

If you have these qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities...

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in welding required, welding certification a plus
  • Ability to read a tape measure required
  • Prior experience with metal working using hand tools required
  • Ability to read blueprints, layout specifications and Bill of Materials (BOMs) required
  • Ability to work a schedule of 5 x 10 (Monday through Friday) with occasional work on Saturday depending on business needs

  • Working in conjunction with a Fabricator III or Department Lead, positions, aligns, fits and welds parts as directed, following blueprints and layout specifications
  • Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter
  • Clamps, holds, tack-welds, grinds, or bolt parts to obtain required configurations to weld parts in flat and vertical positions
  • Examines completed work pieces for defects to ensure conformance with specifications
  • Maintains welding and related equipment
  • Audits Fabricator 1 layout and fitment
