Service Project Manager

Location: Nashville, TN

NRT is looking for a Service Project Manager to join the team.

In this role, you will deliver superior and timely pre-and-post sales support to customers worldwide while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction in the industry. Specifically, you will be tasked with ensuring optical and Max AI components are installed and commissioned to customer/contract specifications. You will also provide technical support for all system components including computer, robotic, electro-mechanical components, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Finally, you will have shared responsibility for customer training, site inspections, customer expedited service and parts solutions for project installations.

If you have these qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities…

  • Minimum of an associate degree
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a technical role or field service role involving electrical and mechanical systems (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Working knowledge of optical systems plus ABB robotics experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP network infrastructure, routing, and general Ethernet topology
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel. Also proficient in remote meetings using Teams
  • Previous experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting automation equipment a plus
  • Excellent customer relations and interpersonal relations skills including a high degree of diplomacy
  • Command of English required, Spanish speaking preferred
  • Ability to perform root-cause analysis, requiring high attention to details and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing to various audiences
  • Ability to lead/work effectively in a team environment

And can handle these responsibilities…

  • Traveling up to 80% of the time domestic and international, both by air and car
  • Handling multiple projects running concurrently
  • Overseeing troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on the mechanical, electrical, or software aspects of equipment at customer sites as performed by NRT Customer Service Technicians (CSTs) that occur during the installation, commissioning, and performance testing of an assigned project
  • Remotely monitoring NRT systems to ensure optimal product operations at customer sites through onsite and remote HMI interfaces for performance testing
  • Providing support for both pre- and post-sales project work for equipment and systems pertaining to customers
  • Conducting equipment operations and maintenance training onsite for both customers and NRT CSTs
  • Overseeing the start-up, checkout, installation, and performance testing of all new equipment assigned to a project
  • Supervising onsite NRT or BHS technicians as it pertains to projects
  • Instructing personnel at customer sites on the safety, proper operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment to improve efficiency and customer productivity
  • Working in conjunction with BHS Project Managers to complete projects on time and on budget, including participating in project meetings
  • Interfacing directly with NRT CSTs, Controls team, and other departments daily to solve site specific issues
  • Documenting all customer contact. Writing reports as needed and recording any issues encountered during a project. Ensuring all open issues are driven to closure
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of technical documentation including operator’s manuals, service manuals and training materials
  • Capturing and providing feedback to R&D, Engineering and Manufacturing groups to improve product performance and serviceability
  • Providing after-hours and on-call support for assigned projects as needed
  • Completing other duties as assigned
